Microdermabrasion is an exfoliating treatment, which involves using a diamond tipped wand, which gently removes dead skin cells layer by layer and a vacuum action lifts away the debris, stimulating the blood flow which encourages collagen and elastin formation
A microdermabrasion treatment can remove up to three times the number of dead skin cells in a single session than other exfoliating treatments
Microdermabrasion is a progressive treatment, therefore I would recommend booking in every 7 to 14 days to get the maximum effect from a course. Courses range from 4 to 8 treatments depending upon your skincare needs. Typically, 1 - 2 courses are needed per year. Maintenance facials can then be performed monthly.
This facial package includes double cleansing, toner, microdermabrasion, with a soothing aloe vera masque, complimentary massage of your choice (choose from neck & shoulders, scalp or hand & arm). The treatment is concluded with nourishing moisturising products.

Unlike Crystal Microdermabrasion, which sprays small crystals on to the skin and then removes them via suction, Diamond Microdermabrasion uses a diamond tipped want which gently exfoliates away dead skin cells.
Crystal Microdermabrasion is often very messy, less precise, with a risk of the crystals becoming inhaled or lodged in the skin. Whereas Diamond Microdermabrasion is a safer, cleaner option.
At the end of your facial I will happily show you exactly how much debris has been removed on the filter!

- Your skin may be slightly red, this will reduce over the next 24-48 hours
- You may have some small red stripes for the first 24 hours
- Your skin may flake or peel, this is a natural reaction and shows your skin is renewing itself
- After a few hours / days your bright new skin will shine through
- Touching your skin, this will transfer bacteria on to your skin, leading to rashes/breakouts
- Alcohol & spicy foods for the first 24 hours after your treatment, as these are stimulants and increase the intensity of initial reddening of the skin
- Avoid perfumed product and those containing peeling ingredients such as AHA’s
- Avoid the sun, sunbeds & self-tanning products for at least 14 days after each treatment
- Avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours following treatment
- Do not use ‘dirty’ moisturising creams or pots of cream which you put your fingers in to. You should purchase a new product and use a spatula (where a pump dispenser is not available) for the duration of your microdermabrasion treatment
- Always use sunscreen with an SPF30 or above - the higher the factor the better, and continue to re-apply during the day
- Cleanse the skin with a gentle cleansing solution
- Always use a spatula to apply products that are present in a pot
- When applying makeup (after the first 24 hours) use a clean sponge or clean fingers
